Zelune is a Free Proxy Script, much like PHProxy and CGI-Proxy. Zelune aims of setting global stands for all the web proxies. It is also a free to use proxy site script which will allow your site users to hide their identity, safely and securely, while browsing any site. Similar to other proxies, it also helps to bypass firewalls set up on a school or work network. Zelune uses cURL, which is faster than what PHProxy and CGI-Proxy use – and I have heard, Zelune is the world’s fastest proxy script, but its not as there is the new script out named Glype which is faster, don’t worry about it I will give a review of that as well in the next post.

They are also light to webhost server resources and bandwidth use. You can check various free templates and demo on their homepage, and here as well, as I’m going to release some free templates of all proxy scripts available soon these days. They are also working on for lots of improvements and new plugins, admin controls, adsense features etc. – all free for members

Demo and Download: Click here

As I’ve said earlier in my post about proxy scripts that I will review all the proxy scripts available. So today I’ve written a review of the CGI Proxy Script.

This CGI script acts as an HTTP or FTP proxy. Through it, you can retrieve any resource that is accessible from the server it runs on. This is useful when your own access is limited, but you can reach a server that in turn can reach others that you can’t. In addition, the user is kept as anonymous as possible from any servers. Common uses include: anonymous proxies similar to The Anonymizer, other personal uses, VPN-like functionality, and others. It’s very simple to install, and very configurable.

When an HTML resource is retrieved, it’s modified so that all links in it point back through the same proxy, including images, form submissions, and everything else. Once you’re using the proxy, you can browse normally and (almost) forget it’s there.

Configurable options include text-only support (to save bandwidth), selective cookie and script removal, simple ad filtering, access restriction by server, custom encoding of target URLs and cookies, and more– there are about 45 options so far. It can run under mod_perl unchanged. It requires Perl 5.004 or later; Perl 5.6.1 or later may be required in future releases.

Demo: Click here

Download: Click here

Previously we talked about the method to create a proxy site without much discussing about a proxy script. So here is the tutorial regarding proxy scripts alone.

Now first of all I will explain you What is a Script ? – Scripts are readymade file packages made for creating a website. There is no need to create different webpages and edit them. Such scripts help you manage your site with a backend which only administrator or website owner sees. You can control your website from a backend admin panel. You just need to download the script, upload on your host, visit the install page, follow the onscreen instructions and you get a website within seconds. This is how scripts work. If you have a cpanel hosting with fantastico feature, there is no need to upload scripts on your host, just with few clicks you can create a website. E.g. of various scripts are WordPress, phpads, joomla etc.

There are plenty of proxy scripts available like PHProxy, CGIProxy, Zelune, Glype, but the two most popular proxy software on the Internet are PHPoxy and CGIProxy.

PHProxy

PHProxy offers a lot more customizability and offers a lot more than CGIProxy but the anonymity is not as good.

Here are the available options whilst using PHProxy:

Includes a mini URL-form on every HTML page

Remove client-side scripting (i.e. JavaScript)

Accept HTTP cookies

Show images

Show referring website in HTTP headers

Use rotate13 encoding on the URL

Use base64 encoding on the URL

Strip meta HTML tags

Strip Website title

Store cookies for this session only

Open URL in a new window

Some PHProxy instances may have been customized after the installation; these are just the default options. This is most probably all that one would need but by editing some of these abilities (e.g. enabling Client-Side Scripting), you will reduce anonymity and your original IP address will be viewable.

I will be giving review of all other proxy scripts in the coming articles, so be sure to check them out.
